Experience

Cecilia has over 25 years of experience in environmental, sustainability, and climate strategy fields. She holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Escuela Militar de Ingeniería in Bolivia, a Master’s in Advanced Energy Studies, and a Master’s in Advanced Environmental Studies from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland). She also holds a specialization in Environmental Management in Industry from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés in Bolivia. Cecilia has worked across multiple sectors, including energy, mining, agroindustry, manufacturing, and services. She has led projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy, carbon footprint measurement, sustainable consumption and production, and sustainability and decarbonization strategies, providing technical advisory services to over 100 companies.

Cristina has worked across various sectors, including energy, agriculture, infrastructure, hospitality, construction, real estate, and sustainable financing. Cristina has extensive experience providing due diligence, sustainability strategy and reporting services and evaluation of sustainable finance instrument. Heidi has +18 years of experience in the development, implementation, and measurement of social impact strategies, community development, and environmental compliance, specifically for the renewable energy industry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of San Carlos de Guatemala and a Master’s degree in Sustainability and Social Responsibility from Isabel I University in Spain. Heidi has completed additional certifications in Sustainable Strategic Transformation, Leadership Auditor training in ISO standards, GRI Professional Certification, and Social Impact Assessment. She has worked extensively and specializes in the energy sector in Central America, working in hydropower, solar and wind projects, managing community relations, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Environmental and Social Due Diligence, stakeholder mapping, human resettlement, and strategic community investment.

Cecilia Pizzurno is a Forest Engineer with professional experience in carbon project development, validation, and verification, including REDD+ and afforestation/reforestation (A/R) initiatives. She holds a degree in Forest Engineering from the National University of Asunción (UNA), where she also pursued postgraduate studies in University Teaching and Project Management. She is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Project Design, Evaluation, and Management and a Master’s of Business Administration. She has worked contributing to carbon certification processes under leading international standards such as VERRA (VCS and CCB Standards), Plan Vivo, the Gold Standard, and the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Her professional background includes consulting on environmental and social due diligence for sustainable investment funds, as well as supporting ecological restoration, carbon monitoring, payments for ecosystem services, and the implementation of social and environmental safeguards. Her work combines the leadership of multidisciplinary teams with the effective engagement of indigenous peoples and smallholder communities. She is a native speaker of Spanish and Guaraní—the two official languages of Paraguay—and she speaks English.

He holds a B.S. in Fishery and Wildlife Biology and a PhD in Conservation Biology from Colorado State University. Don has worked across various sectors, including mining, renewable energy, and environmental consulting. He has held roles such as Senior Environmental and Social Analyst at OPIC, VP Environmental Affairs and Sustainability at Gold Reserve Inc., and CEO of Natural Power Concepts. Don is an expert in IFC Performance Standards, ESIAs, habitat assessments, among others.

She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the Universidad Católica de Honduras, a Master’s in Project Management from the Swiss Business School, and an OSHA 510 certification. Karla has also completed executive training programs on sustainability, carbon footprint, and clean development at INCAE and other universities. She is knowledgeable in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2015, and IFC Performance Standards. Karla has extensive experience providing EHS services for renewable energy projects, including solar, hydro, wind, and cogeneration technologies.
